To set up your Basic or Value Mailbox from home:
1. Call your local voice mail access number.
   
  OR
   
1. If you have the Ultra Feature Package Deluxe or Speed Dial 30, press *, otherwise press *9
2. Enter your passcode (Last 4 digits of your phone number until you change it)
 
To set up your Basic or Value Mailbox away from home:
1. Call your local voice mail access number and enter your mailbox number followed by the * key.
   
  OR
   
1. Call your RCN home telephone number
2. Press * during the greeting
3. Enter your passcode (See above)
 
To set up your Family Mailbox from home:
1. Call your local voice mail access number.
   
  OR
   
1. If you have the Ultra Feature Package Deluxe or Speed Dial 30, press *, otherwise press *9
2. Press the number of the sub mailbox you would like to enter (1-4) or press * to enter your main mailbox.
3. Enter your passcode (Last 4 digits of your phone number until you change it)
 
To set up your Family Mailbox away from home:
1. Call your local voice mail access number and enter your mailbox number followed by the * key.
   
  OR
   
1. Call your RCN home telephone number
2. Press * during the greeting
3. Press the number of the sub mailbox you would like to enter (1-4) or press * to enter your main mailbox.
4. Enter your passcode (See above)

Please note: Your main mailbox does not receive messages. It instructs the caller to:
  Press 1-4 to select a sub mailbox (i.e., press 1 for sub mailbox 1, etc.).
  When the caller selects a sub mailbox number, they will hear the greeting for that sub mailbox.
  The caller is then instructed to leave a message.

As a Family Voice Mail subscriber, it is not necessary to change your main mailbox greeting, the system will announce the name of each sub mailbox for you.

Setting up your voice mailbox is easy as 1-2-3 when you follow these steps
First you’ll need to set up a new passcode:
1. Press U for user options
2. Press P for new passcode
3. Enter 4 – 10 digits for the passcode
 
Then you’ll need to record a greeting:
1. Press U for user options
2. Press G for greeting
3. Record your greeting, press # to stop or wait
4. Press R to review
5. Press X to save
 
Lastly, the tutorial will help you record a name:
1. Press U for user options
2. Press N for name
3. Record your name, press # to stop or wait
4. Press R to review
5. Press X to save
6. Press X to exit or X * to return to the welcome prompt and set up another mailbox
After you have set up your voice mailbox, follow the access instructions below
 
From home:
1. Call your local voicemail access number
   
  OR
   
1. If you have the Ultra Feature Package Deluxe or Speed call 30, press *, otherwise press *9
2. If you have a FAMILY MAILBOX, press the number of the sub mailbox you would like to enter or press * to enter your main mailbox
3. Enter your passcode

Away from home:
1. Call the voicemail access number and enter your mailbox number followed by the * key.
   
  OR
   
1. Call your home telephone number with RCN Voicemail service
2. Press * during the greeting
3. If you have a FAMILY MAILBOX, press the number of the sub mailbox you would like to enter or press the * key to enter your main mailbox
4. Enter your passcode
 
To retrieve messages:
1. Access your mailbox (see instructions above)
2. The system will tell you how many messages you have
3. Press P to play the first message
4. You must choose one of the following options before you can continue to the next message
  P to Play the message again
K to Keep the message
D to discard the message
T to move to the Top of the next message without changing the current message status
5. If you have more than 1 message, press P to Play your next message and go to step 4.
6. Press X to exit or X* to return to welcome prompt to access another mailbox.
 
To change your passcode:
1. Access your mailbox (see instructions above)
2. Press U for user options
3. Press P for change passcode
4. Enter a 4 – 10 digit passcode
5. X to exit or X * to return to welcome prompt to access another mailbox
 
To change your greeting:
1. Access your mailbox (see instructions above)
2. Press U for user options
3. Press G to change your greeting
4. Press R to record your greeting
5. Press X to save your recording
6. X to exit or X * to return to welcome prompt to access another mailbox
