Phone Troubleshooting - No Dial Tone
One telephone in the residence:
Do you have any other type of equipment such as: a cordless
telephone, an answering machine, computers, or fax machines?

If no, equipment exists on the line proceed to the next step. |

If yes, please unplug all equipment from the electrical outlet
and disconnect it from the phone line. Wait 30 seconds and plug in a standard corded
telephone. |
Is dial tone restored?
|
If yes, the problem may be with your equipment. |
|
If no, please continue troubleshooting. |
Is there a recording when your telephone number is called?
Do you have more than one number in your residence?
|
If yes, do you have dial tone on that line? |
|
If no, report the problem to Customer Service. |
More than one telephone at the residence:
The problem is occurring on only one jack. Unplug the
telephone from the jack that does not work. Plug the telephone from the jack
that works into this jack.

If the service now works the problem was caused by the original telephone. |
|
If the problem still exists then the problem is most likely being caused by the telephone jack. |
The problem is occurring on all jacks. Do you have any other
