How can I reduce the amount of junk mail
I receive in my mailbox?
Unfortunately, junk email is a fact of Internet life. It is impossible to eliminate
such unwanted mail entirely. One thing that might help reduce the amount of junk
email you receive is to change your email delivery preferences. By default, our
system allows you to receive mail from three different domains (i.e.
johnsmith@erols.com, johnsmith@rcn.com, johnsmith@starpower.net). It might help
reduce the amount of junk mail if you restrict your account so that it only receives
mail from one domain (i.e. johnsmith@rcn.com). This will eliminate any junk mail
coming from the other domains (i.e. johnsmith@erols.com, johnsmith@starpower.net).
To do this, visit our online User Tools and log on using your email username and
password. Click on "Toggle Strict Email Delivery", check the box which says you
only want to receive email from yourusername@rcn.com account, and click the "Commit
Changes" button. |
