How To Use Call Waiting

Call Waiting lets you know someone else is trying to reach you when you are already on the line.

  • A special tone notifies you that a second caller is trying to reach you and allows you to connect with that caller.
    • Upon hearing the tone, press the receiver or flash button once.
    • This puts the first caller on hold and connects the user to the second call.
  • To return to the first call, press the receiver or flash button once and release it.
  • To switch between calls, repeat these steps.

Call Waiting remains active on the line. It may be temporarily disabled if you do not want a call to be interrupted.

  • To temporarily disable Call Waiting:
    • Pick up the receiver and listen for dial tone.
    • Press *70.
    • Listen for three brief tones, followed by a normal dial tone
    • Dial the telephone number of the person you wish to call. Call Waiting will not interrupt this call.
    • After hanging up, Call Waiting automatically reactivates.
